King and Queen Community Development, Inc. (KQCD) is pleased to let you know that we are sponsoring a Basic Money Management Workshop Series during April, which is Financial Literacy Month. Each Tuesday in April we will conduct a different workshop, the topics are Banking Basics, Budget and Savings, Credit and Homeownership. These workshops are free and open to anyone who wishes to participate.

The workshops will be held at the KQCD office in Walkerton. Each workshop will be offered twice, once in the morning from 9AM – 11PM and once in the evening from 6:30PM – 8:30PM. The class sizes are small to encourage participation and sharing. We are using a curriculum from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The FDIC came to King and Queen on March 6th and provided training to all the instructors who will be teaching in April.

These workshops are good resources for young adults who are just graduating high school, families who are setting up a new household, those adults, no matter their age, who have never had banking relationships and anyone who just need a refresher on basic money management.
