Date: February 5th 2009

Thirteen local artists transformed desks from the old Marriott School into public art sculptures. A sampling of these desks will be featured at First Fridays Artwalk tomorrow, Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Quirk Gallery in Richmond located at 311 West Broad Street. First Fridays Artwalk offers exhibits at more than 20 downtown art galleries. Participating venues hold openings and other special events from 6 – 10pm to increase awareness and appreciation of the rich cultural and entertainment opportunities in the area. These school desks are a part of the School Daze project designed to support the renovation of the old Marriott School. On March 28, 2009 these desks will be auctioned at the School Daze Gala, where you are invited to dress as you did in high school. For more information, visit our website at www.kqcd.org.
